Created by: Liana and Tina (with Resources from Zoom)

Big picture

Getting Ready and Setting Up Zoom:

  1. Be sure your students have signed the Media Release Form sent at the beginning of the year (contact your principal if you do not know which students haven't signed it).
  2. Download Zoom onto your computer to use. https://zoom.us/
  3. Review the pre-meeting settings for conducting a Zoom Meeting.
*Turn on your waiting room.
*Don’t use a personal meeting Id for class meeting.
*Use a password for all meetings
*Only allow registered or domain verified users.

4. Practice conducting a Zoom meeting before you do it with your students.

5. Send your students the Virtual Meeting Protocols before your meeting. (You can also post these protocols during your meeting!)
*Be on Time
*Respect: Be respectful when listening, speaking, and writing in the chat box.
*Keep your sound on mute until you are asked to speak.
*Turn your video off if you need to do something that you don’t want everyone to see (like going to the bathroom)!
*Stay in one place.
*Do not take pictures or video of the meeting.

6. Follow the secure zoom meeting steps for your meeting (see steps below).

In Meeting Setting and Steps:

  1. Master the security menu. (Lock the meeting, enable waiting room, manage participants)

  2. Control screen sharing.

  3. Disable private chat.

  4. Turn off annotation.

  5. Mute participants.

  6. Make someone a co-host.

  7. Remove participants.
