Store
Entering the store as teen you are already expose of seeing the perfection of a body that society wants from you. As a teen already your body is changing and you are not sure what you’re supposed to look like. Especially, when you get your size check. Because teens do not want to go up a size because they feel insured or big.
Celebrity
At this day in age Celebrity are consider our idols or a role model at a young age. But these celebrities usually get Photoshop of their body. The average teen will look at their idol and hoping to look like he or she. For example, kylie Jenner made lipsticks and she most famous of her lips. As a result, some teens think that if they have her lipstick then they might have her abnormal lips size. But in reality a lipstick can’t make your lips big.
Social Media
Teens world is their phone and especially social media. Instagram’s, twitter and Tumblr keep showing these beautiful and unrealistic body types. For example, Kim Kardashian promotes the curvy body. By using a waist trainer and she’s shows if off in snapchat or Instagram. Knowing that Kim has a big following on young people that she’s influencing teens confidents and their self-esteem. Also teens love taking pictures of themselves and posting on Instagram or snapchat. But for some teens if they do not get a like on their picture or not a single comment. That their confidents will go down after that, because that teens think they aren’t beautiful by this simple like ratio button that Instagram offers.
Models
Chanel, Vogue, and Dior are using models who are a certain weight and a certain height. Showing it off to the world and that each little boy or girl seeing these models getting complements of being so thin and skinny is influencing them what a perfect body should look like. In the long run these influence effects them during the teens years. Models are usually really skinny and tall but a human body doesn’t look like a model at all.
Tech
Even though that tech has their benefits they also have their downfall. Because if the teen wants to be a health weight then he or she should get off the computer. For example, majority of teens like to be on their phones and sit down. As a result, they aren’t getting healthier instead being a little lazy. If they are truly wants to be health and their body to be in shape. Then get off the computer or phone and start to workout but not to be those models but to be you. To let your body to show its true colors and the beauty.
Sizes Up
As teens we worry about our size and if we size up then we gain weight. Trying to squeeze a size large but in reality your XL. But they don’t want to accepted that they are bigger. For not being a small or XL small or not being a medium that we aren’t our beautiful. But, teens need to learn that everyone is different and that she might be a small and the same weight but different height can change your sizing chart.
Depression
Being exposed to the standards of our society what a perfect body looks like. A teen might just hate or dislike their body. Soon they fallen into a dark part of their mind thinking that if they do not look like that girl or that boy on the build board. Then they aren’t beautiful. Instead they considered themselves ugly, as a result depression can be cause by pressure too look a certain way. Not sure if anyone is judging your body.
Eating Disorder
As a result of our society norms some teens will do the extreme. By starving themselves or going to the gym to lose weight. Teens do have a higher risk of getting an eating disorder than an adult. The reasoning why is that their bodies are changing. They aren’t sure what’s happening or who they are. Being a teen your finding yourself and trying to figure things out. So seeing a perfect body that you think that your body supposed to look like that. Be a certain way and be a certain weight too look like her or him on these magazines.
Anxiety
Teens already have enough to deal with society norms of how our body supposed to be. For my personal experience of the perfection of a body. I’ve always feel like everyone is judging how big I am or If I gain weight. Because hearing you gain weight is like a built hitting you. Seeing those numbers rising up and not going down will make you cautions about everything you eat.
Learning how to love your body
As sad this is, some teens can’t love their body. Because they want to be the size zero or waist line to be 29. But this must change, because no one should ever feel ashamed of loving their body. Your body is a temple or a tree that’s growing, and as teens we need to learn that having a waist trainer to help us is not good. Because that’s destroying our organs and how our rip cage functions. Especially our self-confidents because without loving your beautiful body it can hurt you so much. Respect your body and love it how it is because your human and hating what you look like is not only hurting you but people who are close to you and love you.
