Our Family Story
Week of 9/16/2019
Science & Social Studies
In Social Studies, we are beginning our study of North America. For each culture region that we study, students will be expected to independently read a book that connects to that region of the world. We will be going to the library Monday so that Mrs. Williams and I can help each student pick a book that is interesting and just right for them. This week is also Celebrate Freedom Week, which includes Constitution Day, so we will be learning a lot about how our founding documents established the unique and lasting government of the USA. What a great way to kick off our study of the political and economic systems of the United States & Canada!
In Reading and Writing...
In writing we will be continuing working on our personal narratives and applying strategies we have learned from mentor texts and practicing those in our writers notebooks.
In 6th Grade Math...
Ask your child how number lines can help when comparing values.
In Pre-AP Math...
Ask your child to explain the world of numbers they will be working with this year.
Parker
My favorite sport is baseball because I have played since I was 3, and it has always been my dream to be in the MLB.
Victoria
My favorite sport is soccer. No matter what position you are in, you get to run around. Plus, the rules are really easy.
Sophia
My best vacation was Punta Cana because the beaches were so amazing. The sand was so beautiful and the resort had so many slides and pools. It was amazing and super fun.
