Marching Band Edition

Pre-Camp Rehearsals

Our pre-camp rehearsals are here! Pre-camp is excusable if you/your parent indicated it on the commitment form from the Spring. All other students need to attend the rehearsals so we can hit the ground running for our intensive week of band camp.

Tuesday, July 9th - Music only - 6:30-8:30pm at the HS Band Room

Tuesday, July 16th - Music & Marching - 6:30-8:30pm at the HS Band Room/HS Faculty Parking Lot Remember your proper marching shoes!

Wednesday, July 17th - Marching only - 6:30-8:30pm at the HS Faculty Parking Lot Remember your proper marching shoes!

Band Camp Information

July 22-26, 2019 at Berrien Springs High School

  1. Wear comfortable clothes and athletic-type shoes. Dark colors absorb sunlight; so wear light colors to keep your body cooler. NO SANDALS!

  2. Bring a pencil, small notebook and a highlighter for marking music and drill.

  3. Band Camp is a closed campus - you may not leave for lunch or other reasons.

  4. Wear sunscreen!

  5. You will need a lyre and flip folio for your instrument. Freshmen are provided flip folios by school. If you lose it after your freshmen year, you’ll have to purchase a new one.

  6. Bring a water bottle. We supply water on breaks, but you need your own bottle marked with your name.

  7. Please be on time. “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late.”

  8. Be excited-this is going to be the best marching season yet!


Monday - SHAMROCK PRIDE DAY: Dress head to toe in green and white!

Tuesday - FANDOM DAY: Dress as your favorite fandom character (Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, etc.)!

Wednesday - CARTOON DAY: Dress up as a cartoon character!

Thursday - TWIN DAY: Dress up with a buddy - or as a section!

Friday - SHOW DAY: Wear a band or dragon related shirt!

Friday, July 26th performance attire - Summer uniform: khaki (tan) shorts/capris/pants and your show shirt

Camp Volunteers Needed!

We need parent volunteers to make this week as smooth and successful as possible. You could help with meal prep, check in, water refills, uniform fittings, t-shirt labelling, plus more! You can help on your schedule - anywhere from one afternoon/day to the whole week. Please contact Julie Hill at 269-449-5055 or to sign up and help us out!

If you would like to know the balance in your student's band account, you can email Rhoda Johnson at The fee for band camp is $80. That fee covers your student's camp meals, t-shirts and some accessories. If you are in need of a payment plan or assistance, please also contact Rhoda Johnson.
