A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Luther Burbank Families,

As we close out the school year, I wish everyone a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer. I would like to thank our entire community for their steadfast positivity, support, and partnership.

As I mentioned in last week’s message, the year certainly has presented its share of challenges, but through it all, our students and staff have rallied and demonstrated true strength and resilience. Our community has worked hard to remain connected despite our physical separation, and we will maintain this same level of commitment as we enter the year ahead regardless of any challenges that may come our way. To our 8th graders headed off to high school, we send you forward with confidence in the inner strength and abilities that have distinguished you as a very special class, a class that we will remember with an abundance of pride. We know that your future is bright and limitless. We are definitely cheering you on and hope you will come back and visit, sharing your successes and all the good that life brings your way!

Enjoy the warm days and change of pace ahead and know that I will continue to keep our returning families updated as plans for the 2020-2021 school year unfold now and through the summer.

All my best,

Laura Friend

Take A Look...

One of the very special traditions unique to our Lancaster community is the 5th Grade Clap Out. This year, we are pleased to welcome our rising 6th graders with a Virtual Clap Out. Please click here to join us in extending a warm and heartfelt welcome to our new LBMS Lancers!

Also, please take a peek at our final Positive Sign Thursday video which, we believe, serves as a very appropriate "letter" to close out the year. “To the Best Community EVER!…

Summer Work

Similar to years past, we have provided students with summer work to keep their learning intact through the summer weeks. This summer, summer work for students entering grades 6-8 includes work for math, reading, and science. Summer work may be found on your child’s grade level Google Classroom and on our LBMS Summer Learning Website. Please click here to access our Summer Learning Website.

2019-2020 LBMS Yearbook

We anticipate receiving shipment of the yearbooks sometime in July or early August. We will contact all families who have purchased a yearbook with pick up instructions once they are shipped to us. Please email Mrs. Brennan at ebrennan@nrsd.net with any questions. Thank you!

2020 Census -Your Response Matters! It’s STILL Not Too Late!

A reminder to all of our Lancaster families to complete the 2020 Census if you have not already done so. It is not too late. Among other important aspects, responding to the census affects the amount of funding our community receives and ensures public services and funding for schools. In 2020, for the first time ever, the U.S. Census Bureau is accepting responses online. Responding should take minutes! Click here to complete the Census.
