STAAR Preliminary Data
Alice ISD showed strong improvements in our 2022 STAAR/EOC preliminary data as compared to 2021. We have significantly closed the academic gap and are back on track to prepandemic performance levels in ELAR, and gaining ground in Mathematics. All subject areas rebounded well, and we are so proud of our students, teachers, paraprofessional, administrators, and support staff for all their hard work this last year.
Compensation Plan
The Alice ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2022-2023 Compensation Plan. The Board approved a $1.00 an hour raise for all hourly employees, and we offer a highly competitive salary at every pay scale.
All raises are in addition to the previously approved $1,000 retention stipend for returning employees.

Future Improvements
The Agenda Item on Baseball Backstop was pulled. The District is working with our Project Manager to prepare a more comprehensive scope of improvements needed for the baseball complex and will go through the procurement process in the near future.
Memorial and Salazar sale of property
The Competitive Sealed Proposals for Real Estate Sale were approved and the board authorized the superintendent to negotiate contracts for Memorial Intermediate School and Salazar Elementary School.
The minimum bid required as per appraisal values for Memorial was $160,000 and Salazar was at $85,000.
The Board of Trustees accepted the bid for Memorial at $250,000, and Salazar at $100,000. This was a second attempt for the sale of properties, which were posted as required by law.
“Our vision through the years became fruition. It’s a great day for the Boys and Girls Club of Alice,” Executive Director Rick Del Bosque said. “Thanks to all those that made it possible.”
"We currently have plans to utilize this property for residential and commercial rentals," said Manuel Garcia, who acquired the Salazar property. "It is our intent to repurpose the property in ways that will benefit our Alice community."
