Important info (and fun) for math students & families
iReady Diagnostic Assessments
iReady provides adaptive diagnostic assessment on the computer that allows us to assess student progress relative to grade-level standards K-8
Teachers are able to access detailed score reports to inform instruction for small group and whole class learning needs and goals AND to share feedback with students and help them in setting goals for themselves
These tests provide exposure to and practice with standardized assessments that measure college and career readiness in a supportive and low-stakes environment.
Provide a progress monitoring tool for students so we can identify needed supports
Inform placement decisions in an ongoing way that is specifically related to grade level CCS standards
Students view their score on the diagnostic as soon as they complete the assessment and can return to their results on their iReady portal. Teachers can review this data with students and parents to explain the meaning behind the numbers.
Students will complete the second diagnostic in January and the goal for each student is to see overall growth from their initial score.
Ready Classroom Mathematics
Teachers have given students a worktext for the new Ready Classroom Mathematics where students may reference important information and also answer questions and work out problems directly on the pages of the text.
As is always the case with district provided texts, it is important that students take care of this book and bring it back and forth to class according to teacher instructions. In the event that this book is damaged or lost, we can provide a replacement for the student, but student/parent will need to pay a replacement fee of $25.
Students also have access to a digital version of the text through their i-Ready login (see link below).
