January Newsletter

Ada Elementary - 2018

We have reached the midway point of our school year! So much has already happened, but there is so much more in store.

During the week of January 8 we will be benchmarking our students' progress in reading and math by taking the Star Reading and Math assessments. This important data shows us and you how students have grown from the beginning of the school year. Look for results to come home with your student later this month.

From the Office

For the 4th and 5th Grade Honors Assembly on Wednesday, January 17 at 1:30, parents may park in the south parking lot and use the entrance by the cafeteria and auditorium.

Parents are reminded of our attendance policy that you are permitted 5 parent excuses for absence per semester. All absences above these will require medical documentation to be excused. Additionally, all absences over 10 total absences require documentation to be excused. Excessive absence may result in truancy.

Dress warmly! Please remember to dress your child warmly during the next several months as we will be trying to go outside for recess as much as possible. We go outside when the temperature and windchill are above 20 degrees. We will also be using the gyms on cold winter days and students will be travelling outside between buildings. We strongly recommend students wear winter coats, hats and gloves or mittens.

We have quite a collection of hats, gloves, and lunchboxes in our lost and found. If your child is missing something encourage them to check!

Transportation changes are not permitted after 2 p.m. Written notes by parents must be turned in to homeroom teachers by 9 a.m. This is to ensure the safety and security of students. Thank you for your cooperation.
