WARRIORS IN 'THE KNOW'

"Every end is a new beginning."
That's a Wrap on the 2019-2020 School Year!
I came in early this morning before the hustle and bustle of this very different last day of school. The building is completely empty and peacefully quiet. All I can hear are some birds chirping, a rooster crowing in the distance and increasing sounds of traffic indicating the day has begun for others too.
In many ways, it doesn't even feel like the last day of school because I barely remember the last time I saw students; I can't remember the details of what they were doing. That thought makes me sad because the kids are why I, and we, are here. As I sit at my desk this morning, I wish I would have preserved just a few more memories from those days right before Spring Break instead of being so anxious for a few days away. When we left, we knew we would all be back....right?!?
For other reasons, this day couldn't come soon enough! I don't wish for an end because the past 10 weeks were a bad experience. So many positives have come out of this pandemic - we learned that we can teach students in other ways; we learned how to maintain our connections from afar; we did things outside of our comfort zone in order for people to be successful and feel at ease; we fed students and assisted families through a pandemic - just to name a few! However, I am thankful for an end so that a new beginning can emerge.
Have a GREAT summer break. Please truly unplug and enjoy uninterrupted quality time with those you love.
