McAuley's Run for Hope 5K...
...is TOMORROW!
Join Claudia ('99) & Justine ('02) for the 10th Anniversary Run for Hope!
The Run for Hope is a fun-filled day for all ages – with special 10th anniversary opportunities! It’s the first year of our Kids 1K Fun Run/Walk (with face painting, too!). There is a raffle for a pair of Red Sox tickets and a silent auction ranging from restaurant and hotel gift certificates to a Beach to Beacon race bib entry and running gear. There's also great prizes for the top three placing men and women, including gift certificates to great local restaurants and a lottery for two Red Sox tickets.
Can't make it to campus for the Run for Hope 5K, but would still like to participate?
That's okay! You can participate virtually from anywhere in the world and support scholarships for future McAuley students.
To participate in the Virtual Run for Hope 5K:
1. Make a donation here and note it “Run for Hope." Complete your virtual 5K during the Run for Hope weekend, May 14. It's okay to spread it out over the weekend; just run or walk a total of 3.1 miles.
2. Take a picture of yourself in your plaid skirt, old McAuley gear or green and gold. Upload it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter tagged with #McAuleyHS. Challenge your friends and classmates to join you!
Run for Hope - In memory of Jim and Maxine Pouravelis:
The scholarship fund was established in December 2006 in memory of two devoted and vibrant members of the Catherine McAuley community. Jim and Maxine lived each day with an unending and unwavering spirit of hope and optimism. They had a special affection for the McAuley community that nurtured their two daughters (Claudia '99 & Justine '02) and provided them with a superb educational and spiritual foundation.
In life, Jim and Maxine cheered loudly, danced often, and loved immensely. The James and Maxine Pouravelis Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to young women at Catherine McAuley High School, an education Jim and Maxine saw as essential to the intellectual, athletic, and spiritual development of young women. Through the hope that is nurtured by a McAuley education, this scholarship will continue to keep their hope in new beginnings alive.
To date, 36 deserving students have been awarded a total of $129,000 in support of their McAuley education.
Thank you for your participation and support!
