School board votes to modify face covering requirements
Dear Lake Travis ISD Staff, Parents and Guardians,
During its regular meeting, the Lake Travis school board voted to make two modifications to our current masking requirements. The first change allows for the optional use of masks and other face coverings for staff, students, and visitors while outdoors on district property, effective immediately. The second modification allows for the optional use of masks and other face coverings for staff, students, and visitors while indoors on district property, effective at 12:01 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2021. No other modifications were made to the District’s current protocols for COVID.
The board’s decision to modify our face covering requirements was not an easy one to make. The continued decline of local COVID transmission rates, the availability of vaccines for staff and students, and the recent order issued by Governor Greg Abbott were each thoughtfully and carefully considered.
Please know, in our continued efforts to prioritize the health and safety of our staff and students, we will follow all other protocols currently in place through the remainder of the current school year. We appreciate your patience, understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Paul Norton
Superintendent of Schools

Lunch accounts - A message from Food and Nutrition Services
Dear Parent or Guardian:
As we approach the completion of the 2020-21 school year, the LTISD Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) department has begun to settle all meal accounts with a negative balance. Beginning May 17th, 2021, students will not be able to charge a meal or a la carte items that would incur a negative balance. Therefore, starting May 17th, if a student’s purchase will lead to a negative balance on his or her account, they may be given an alternate meal. Please use this opportunity to replenish your child's MySchoolBucks.com account so that your child can make his/her desired meal selections at the Café.
Please remember, to avoid a service fee, pre-payments are accepted in cash or check at your campus Café. To insure proper account credit, cash pre-payments must be in a labeled envelope with student ID# and full name. Check pre-payments must also indicate the student ID# and full name. Checks should be made payable to LTISD. Students currently receiving meal benefits (free or reduced price meals) will continue.
Sincerely, LTISD FANS Department
