Dear BSA Fam,

BSA Week 2014: Nothing was The Same kicks off next monday with the Walter Murray lecture!

As January is ending, your BSA has a host of exciting events starting this week! If you have not yet purchased your Black Affair ticket please do ASAP! If you would like to pay your BSA dues on the card and receive your official BSA T-shirt please purchase the $20 ticket instead of the $10 ticket!

This week we have a study hall on Tuesday and a Movie Night thursday! Please keep an eye out for BSA Week updates as we get closet to starting it off!

Events Around Campus This Week

Teach-In on The Death Penalty

Monday, Jan. 27th, 5:30pm

Alumni Hall 201

Join VPP, the Vanderbilt Department of Philosophy, Students and Educators for Social Justice, and the Tennessee Students and Educators for Social Justice for a teach-in on the death penalty and its ramifications. This event will consist of a panel discussion, involving different perspectives and providing a more complete view of this aspect of our criminal justice system.

Free Vegetarian Pizza will be served in honor of Phil Workman's last request before his execution in 2007. You can read more about that here:

Harambee Fashion Show Interest Meeting

Stop by any time during this period to try on African attire and to find out how you can take part in the Harambee Fashion Show in February.

*No previous model experience is needed. Just come to have fun and model clothes from some of the latest African trends!

*We are looking for both male and female models of all and any sizes/builds!

*Nothing is needed for this interest meeting, just bring yourself! We will provide all of the clothing. What you model is your choice, we will have a selection of outfits for everyone to choose from.

MLC Semi-Formal: A Night at the Speakeasy

Saturday, Feb. 1st, 9pm

A Night at the Speakeasy will take you back to a period where jazz, dance and a free spiritedness defined the Roaring 20s. Come out and enjoy a night of extravagant fun as we transform Ruby into a one of a kind speakeasy, complete with lively music, free flowing food and drink, and -of course- a swanky crowd. It'll be an event worthy of the Fitzgeralds.

Tickets on sale now! $7 in advance at the Sarratt Box Office, or $10 cash at the door.

All Vanderbilt students admitted! Those over 21 can choose to bring their id and receive a wristband at the door
