Quote of the week
"The road to freedom –here and everywhere on earth-– begins in the classroom.” – Hubert Humphrey
From Mr. Wingfield
We finally made it to November and got a quick hint of cold weather. It is supposed to be 80 degrees again this weekend, but hopefully soon mother nature will make up her mind.
Congratulations to our HS volleyball team and their win over crossroads on Monday. Their next game will be against West Hardin at Oakridge HS on Thursday at 6:00. Good Luck Ladies!! We have our last home varsity football game this Friday and it is senior night. Hope you can come out and support them as they play their last game in Panther Stadium.
The middle school plays their last games on Thursday against Leon in Leon. They continue to play hard and get better each week. Next week practice for boy's and girl's basketball will also be starting. Their first games are against Mumford on November 9th.
Monday, November 6, NISD will be hosting an Open House from 5:00-6:30. This is an opportunity to catch up with teachers and see some of our completed projects from the recent bond. Hope to see you there!
Wednesday, November 8, 6th graders will be going to watch Artrageous at Rudder Theater on the campus of Texas A&M University. Students must have permission slips signed in order to attend. Since we have just enough tickets for students and teachers, no parents will be able to be in attendance.
The Bus Barn will begin using a new Bus Management System in the coming weeks. Please see information below under "From the Bus Barn" to get more information
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

Capturing Kids Hearts November Lessons
In November we will be focused on Teamwork and working together. Every Monday we will have a character lesson and students will be able reflect and build positive, healthy relationships and dialogue with one another.
From the Bus Barn-New Bus Management System
The Transportation Department is in the process of changing over a new Bus Management System called Bus Right. This system will enhance student safety, streamline bus communication, and manage routes at the touch of a button. A GPS system will track the bus on it's route and provide real time information to parents, administrators and route drivers. Parents will have peace of mind receiving drop off and pick up information before and after school. The system should be online soon. In the meantime, below is the information needed to download the app. Once you set it up on your phone, the app will automatically start giving you information when the transportation department has it up and running. We will let you know when that happens.
