October 15th - 17th
Highlights from our short week:
Shared Reading - We began reading a combination of two books with a central theme connecting to where animals live. Students read a fiction and non-fiction book about animal homes.
Writing - Our class completed a writing piece by creating at least two sentences and recording them on Seesaw. After listening to their recording, they transferred their oral ideas onto paper. We had many students increase their writing output by being able to listen to their ideas repeatedly before writing them down.
Science - Our class continued our exploration of the pumpkin life cycle. This unit will continue into next week as we explore the parts of a pumpkin.
Math: During our three days together we worked on determining multiple ways to make ten, identifying inverse number sentences (example: 3+2=5 and 2+3=5), subtraction, and began working with numbers from 29 to 39.
