The Titanic

The sinking of the Titanic was one of the worst tragedies of the 1900's. Because the Titanic's safety was overestimated, the Titanic didn't have enough lifeboats to save everybody on board. Seven hundred people out of 2,200 people were rescued by a ship called the Carpathia. Now it is made mandatory for ships to carry enough lifeboats to save everyone on board. There were many losses on the Titanic, not only their loved ones. Money, Important belongings, and of course The Titanic the most magnificent ship in the world.

Finding the Titanic

Many years after the Titanic sunk in 1985, a geologist named Dr. Robert Ballard who was interested in locating the titanic for years found the wreckage of the ship after fifty-six days of searching. He and his crew used a system called an Argo. Argo could work video underwater to see underwater images. Researchers spent days taking pictures of the wreckage using this device .
