The True Role of the Holy Spirit
I read an article this week about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Far to often the Holy Spirit is relegated as the bystander within the Holy Trinity. The one who we look to for the miraculous or for prosperity, as if he was the magic genie element of our God. But the reality is that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, our Guide, our enabler.
I have often forsook the role of the Holy Spirit in my own life. To be fair, I believed in his existence and of his innate importance within the Trinity but I never really understood the role he in my day-to-day life. The truth is, the Holy Spirit is God just as much as Jesus and just as much as the Father. Indeed, he is our connection to them both here on this earth. He is not a genie or a granter of wishes but is God in Spirit and in power. I pray that the Father would enlighten your minds to the role and the power of the Holy Spirit in your life and that you would begin to love and cherish him as you do the Father and the Son.
