Don't Miss Our Block Party!

FYI 10/08/21

It's Party Time!

Join us Sunday, October 17th at 6 PM for our annual church picnic and block party! There will be plenty to do for both kids and adults including music, games, and a bounce house. We will be inviting our neighbors to attend as well, so if you see someone you don't know, make sure to introduce yourself!

"Food?" you ask? Of course, there's food! The Pig & Tasty Food Truck will be here serving us delicious pulled pork sandwiches, piggy mac-n-cheese, and nachos. Hot dogs and drinks will also be available. This is a FREE event!

We do need a little help, so If you'd like to be involved in serving with this event, contact Lori Behrman at or stop by and see her at the SERVE Columbus table in the lobby.

We Love Our Pastors!

October is the month set aside to show appreciation and thanks to our pastoral staff. Sunday, October 31st, we will be praying for our pastors during service, and there will be an area in the lobby if you'd like to leave a card or gift for the Glowackis, Spoerners, and Pastor Evan. Please bless them generously, because we love our pastoral families!

How Do You Celebrate the Coming of Autumn?

Are you someone that is sad to see the end of summer, or do you eagerly await the falling leaves and cooler temperatures? Do you have any family traditions or special memories that you associate with this time of year? Here is what the office staff had to say about it!

Pastor Rick - "I truly enjoy the change of season. It brings back good memories of growing up surrounded by 65 oak trees and watching the leaves turn every year. It also brings back not-so-good memories of raking and burning those leaves once they've fallen (although I love the smell of burning leaves)! I also have good memories of my mom making homemade noodles and vegetable soup during this time of year!"

Mr. Jack - "I love the leaves, and I love the cool weather!" I have good memories of many family trips to orchards where we would pick apples, pumpkins, and go on hayrides. And I love fresh apple butter!"

Evan - "I love walking on fallen leaves and the crunch that they make. I love wearing big jackets, and every year I can't wait to pull out my cardigans and hats with the fuzzy ear flaps! I really look forward to having Thanksgiving with my family every year. I will honestly say that I'm not a huge fan of the whole "pumpkin spice" thing, though."

Kristy - "Fall is my favorite time of year! I love when the temperatures start to cool and I can wear my favorite, gray sweater. I have memories of my mom making her chili and her vegetable soup with meatballs in it. My biggest wish is that fall would last longer and winter would be shorter!"

We would love to hear some of your thoughts and traditions about autumn! What do you love about this time of year?
