Opening Up!
Thank you all who made this another AWESOME week at RHHS!! What a week it was with all the celebrations for our FIRST EVER Forthcoming game! I'd have to say, even with all the excitement that surrounded the opening of Rock Hill, one of the toughest challenges has been how do we start to form an identity as being ROCK HILL. Given that we are only 11 weeks old as a campus long standing traditions that would be evident at an established high school are not there so you "live" in this weird place of what do we actually want to become a "tradition" on THE HILL and do we continue to just follow other traditions that were established elsewhere. It's been interesting to see this play out with our students but without a doubt this week took us closer to becoming ROCK HILL home of the ORIGINAL BLUE HAWKS!
Needless to say, our students are a MAJOR part of this unity but I can not thank our STAFF enough for leading the way throughout the week. They definitely knocked it out of the park as you can see by some of the above pictures. We have the most tremendous staff and in spite of the pandemic, they never once lose sight of the fact that we are all here for our kids and continue to do whatever it takes to give them the BEST experience and education. I am honored day in and day out to work alongside them.
As I told Dr. Ferguson this week, from the sign painting party on Sunday, the dress up days, the door decorating contest, the community pep rally, the decorations around campus and eventually the game we definitely ROCKED Forthcoming! I'm not sure that there is much more that could have been done to make it more memorable for our kids, parents and staff. Most importantly, things felt "normal" again. I am so proud of the resilience our district has shown time and time again throughout this pandemic and am thankful for our district leaders who continue to put our kids first and not let our circumstances take anything else away from them!! Thank you all again for an amazing week and no doubt we have MANY more ahead!!
Have a great weekend and please reach out if there is anything I can do to help! GO ROCK!!

Tips for Staying Healthy at School
10/22***Please see the new announcement from Dr. Bradley on the adjustment on the PISD definition of a close contact at school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLAKN4Yg4iw
Avoid close contact with anyone- close contact = closer than 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) for more than 15 minutes. We make allowances at school for people wearing masks- but still please keep your distance- 3 feet minimum to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
*Tip-- If you can reach you arm out fully extended and touch the other person- you are too close.
Wear your mask at all times in public- covering your nose and mouth fully
Avoid touching your mask, face, mouth, nose and eyes
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
Please stay home when you are sick!
Please check the Daily online self-screener before coming to school or any PISD activities- if you answer yes to any of the questions, please stay home and respond to the screener. Click Rock Hill, answer the questions and submit. I will call you and discuss before you can come to campus.

I wanted to come to Rock Hill because it was an opportunity to open a new school and help create a culture of kindness! Once the process had begun for creating our core values, and I was able to see how actively involved students were, I could not wait to step foot on campus and become a part of the Rock community!
Q. What does it mean to be part of the Rock Hill Community?
The Rock Hill community is unlike any other, and I am so honored to be a part of it. Each person on campus exemplifies our core values of integrity, creativity, service, empathy, and excellence and I get to see those values lived out every single day.
Q. What are your goals for this year?
My goal for this year is to ensure that every person I interact with knows they are seen, heard, and loved. Every interaction we have with others holds a tremendous weight, and I hope that each of my interactions build up our Rock Hill community. Being surrounded with incredible students and incredible coworkers makes this easy :)
Q. What are you looking forward to the most during football season?
Being able to see some of my AWESOME students do what they love out on the football field, and give it their all. Go Rock! Go Blue Hawks!!

Parent and Guardians,
We are so excited to be a part of the opening of Rock Hill High School and laying the foundation for the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). July started with a great boost with an amazing membership drive. As parents and guardians, we believe that we all have similar goals. We want our children and the students attending Rock Hill to laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained and to feel the support of those around them. PTO is here with the students and teachers in mind. Every decision PTO makes is with the focus of each and every student and teacher. We encourage you to join the PTO and stay connected with all upcoming PTO sponsored events.
Should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to use via email at rockhillhighpto@gmail.com.
