Building Sustainability at Cal uses student energy and knowledge to reduce the environmental footprint of buildings and help generate a culture of sustainability on campus. The program started in August 2008 with one student in one building and has expanded to 50 students in 10 buildings on campus. Over 200 students have been involved in the program since its inception.

Interested? Here's what we've got:
Intern
Interns learn the basics of green building design principles and apply that knowledge while documenting LEED and other green building projects on campus. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the nationally-acknowledged benchmark for the operation of high-performance green buildings and is used as a standard for all campus building projects. Interns will be have the opportunity to earn their LEED GA and gain insight into the planning/development, design and construction phases of a building project.
Logistics:
1. $11.00/hour
2. Expected hours: up to 7 hours per week

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Students must be self-motivated, organized, and professional
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience working on teams
- Willing and able to work with staff, faculty, and students
- Committed to sustainability
Intern Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior knowledge or experience with LEED or interest in learning
- A strong interest in architecture, landscape architecture or green building
- Experience with other sustainability groups and environmental projects on-campus
- Design (Illustrator/Publisher)
GO! Team Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other sustainability groups and environmental projects on-campus
- Experience performing educational outreach

Please also give us an idea of your general availability by sharing what other commitments and activities you have planned for the fall semester (including student group activities, how many units you are planning on taking, jobs, and other time commitments).
