The PTA is coming!
We are excited to announce that we are forming a Lichen PTA. Please find the attached flier about our PTA, including how to get involved!
Covid Testing
We know that many of our families are dealing with covid-related health issues and we are here to help. Our Principal, Mrs. Wahl, is a trained COVID-19 test administrator and available to test students on campus. Due to limited testing supplies nation-wide, we will be modifying our testing availability. She will be able to test your child if they have be exposed directly to a COVID-positive person. She is also able to support the bi-weekly testing necessary for modified quarantine due to an exposure on campus. If you prefer to have your child tested off campus, please be aware that the test must come from an official health care organization or the district.
The district is continuing to offer COVID-19 testing for students. If you choose to attend one of our district testing sites, please pre-register in order to expedite the process. Also keep in mind that these are voluntary, self-swab tests. You can pre-register at this link:
Income Verification Form
Parents/guardians are asked to complete an income verification form with the district by Oct. 1, if you haven’t done so already. The form was part of the annual student information update and can be completed online via the Parent Portal. Just log in with your pin and password at www.sanjuan.edu/parentportal. You can also request a printed copy of the form from our school’s front office.
It’s important that every family completes this form, as this information helps the district fund critical programs for all schools, including summer programs, intervention supports, technology such as Chromebooks and more.
Progressive Discipline for Mask Non-Compliance
While many of our students are terrific with wearing their masks while on campus, we are having many repeat conversations with students who refuse to keep their mask on or over their nose while indoors on campus. Proper mask use is one of the best ways to keep everyone safe and healthy and so we ask you to have a discussion with your child about the importance of wearing a mask properly while indoors on campus. We will be instituting a progressive discipline approach for students who repeatedly refuse to comply with mask protocol. Thank you for your support.
Masks
**We are also selling Lichen Masks in the front office! They are $7 each or 3 for $21. They are adult size, but can be shrunk in the wash to fit younger kids.
Early-Out Thursdays
Thursdays are our early out days. School ends at 1:25 pm. Please make sure you have arranged for pick up at that time.
