Mark Your Calendar-Internet Safety - Start Early & Keep Talking

This Wednesday, February 2nd at 6:30 pm, we will have the first of a monthly series of brief (20-30 minutes) internet Info presentations on Zoom. This presentation will be given by Mrs. Grajera, Manatee Elementary Assistant Principal. We know Instagram and Tik Tok- but as my kids say- those are for old people now! What’s KIK? What’s Whisper? And Live.Me?!?! That’s not even proper English! Many kids have a tablet or internet connected device before they (and we!) fully comprehend the power in their hands. Join us to learn some new stuff and/or share what YOU know to make our Manatee Community Internet Savvy and Safe!

COVID Updates

COVID notices will now be sent to parents by email. Please read the FAQ below and contact if you have any questions.

If I receive a notice, does this mean my child was exposed to COVID?

The notification means someone in your child’s classroom tested positive for COVID 19.

I received a notice, does this mean my child was a close contact?

We are no longer contact tracing for close contacts. If you child was in a classroom with someone who tested positive for COVID 19, we will notify you so you can be on the lookout for symptoms.

I don’t understand the difference between contact tracing and notification.

Contact Tracing is an action specifically identifying anyone within 6 feet of a case for a cumulative 15 minutes for 48 hours prior to the case being symptomatic or testing positive anywhere throughout the persons interactions on School Board property. Notification informs you that there was a possible exposure within your child’s classroom.

Will I receive notification when there is a COVID case in my child’s school even if it was not in my child’s specific classroom(s)?
