Holiday Market
What is the Holiday Market?
All third grade students will open a business, either individually or with a small group of students, and create a homemade product to sell at the Holiday Market. The students will do all of the activities at school, except creating their product and tri-fold. All products and tri folds must be student made. The students will bring their goods to school the morning of Friday, December 2nd.
Scholar Dollars
Third Grade has a classroom economy system using Scholar Dollars. The students will use the Scholar Dollars they have earned to open a business. In addition, the students will use
their Scholar Dollars to buy goods from other businesses at the Holiday Market. Mark your calendar and plan to attend this special event! You will be given Scholar Dollars when you arrive so you can get a jump start on your holiday shopping!
All parents are invited to attend!

Red Ribbon Week
During this week students will be learning about making good choices, saying no to drugs and how to live a healthy life. We are encouraging all of our students to follow the theme days for the week, as we encourage them all to be healthy and happy throughout their lives! Red ribbons will be tied around the trees in the front of the school.
Monday, Oct. 24: I’m Red-y to say NO to Drugs”
Staff and students are encouraged to wear red.
Tuesday, Oct. 25: “Dreaming of a Healthy Future”
Staff and students may wear pajamas.
Wednesday, Oct. 26: “Team up Against Drugs”
Staff and students may wear your favorite sports team shirt.
Thursday, Oct. 27: “Hats Off to Being Drug Free”
Staff and students may a hat.
Friday, Oct. 27: “We can’t HIDE our School Pride”
Staff and students are encouraged to wear camouflage and/or school spirit shirts.
Monday, Oct. 31: “Ride PINK OUT”
Staff and students are encouraged to wear PINK to support Breast Cancer Awareness

Reading:
We are about to begin our non fiction unit in reading. The students will have to earn their wings to enter the bat cave on the 28th by identifying different text features.
Drama Exit ticket on the 24th.
Writing:
Your third grader is exploring informational writing by studying mentor texts and applying strategies to their own writing
October 26th- Revising and Editing Test
Math:
We are representing multiplication and division by using equal groups, arrays, number lines, and strip diagrams.
October 27th- Multiplication and division quiz.
Nov 3rd x3,6,9,
Science:
Your third grader is an expert different forms of energy.
Social Studies:
Your third grader is an expert on map skills.
Homework:
Your third grader is assigned homework on Monday, all homework is due Friday.
UPDATE: Be sure your child dresses in their House colors on Wednesdays! We would like to keep Fridays saved for Ride Spirit Day!
Remember....
- Please remember to empty your child's red folder.
- Snack is at 10:00, please remember to send in snack. There is no class snack provided for third grade.
