6th Grade Flying Field Trip
Mrs. Hopwood teaches a science unit to the 6th graders about the properties and forces of air, Bernoulli's principle of lift, and control surfaces of airplanes and helicopters. After learning about it the sixth graders are given the opportunity to see it in real life! Last spring the seventh graders' field trip last year kept getting postponed due to weather, but we were able to make it up this fall. We will hopefully be taking the rest of the sixth grade later this fall.

Weather Changing
Also with this time of year comes colds and flu like symptoms. We are just reminding you that if your child has a fever or throws up they should not come to school until 24 hours after either of those symptoms subside. If you are keeping your child home please remember to call the office to report your child absent, feel free to leave a message if no one answers right away!

"I Am" -- 4th Grade Poetry
I am the colors of trees dancing in the wind.
I am the shine of fish.
I am the love of beauty.
I am the anger of storms.
I am the sad of rain.
I am the happy of sunny days.
I am the fear of squirrels.
I am the hate of fire.
I am the reputation of love.
By Malia
I remember when my brother
hit a pothole on his bike and
flew in the air like a rocket.
I remember our rooster, Tommy,
peck our fingers like worms.
I remember Texas and its blazing
hot days, eating ice cream on the curb.
