FPS District Office is Moving
The Fargo Public Schools District Office has now relocated from 415 4th Street North to 700 7th Street South (former RDO corporate office building) in Fargo. While the address has changed, phone numbers for District Office personnel remain the same.
The Fargo Board of Education authorized administration to purchase the former RDO building as a future site for the District Office in June 2020. The Board’s decision to relocate the current District Office was made after considering several factors, including but not limited to, accommodating the growth of Fargo Public Schools and an increase in employees, assisting Hawthorne Elementary School with parking needs, and reviewing the maintenance needs for the current District Office and the Agassiz building. Moving to the new building will also allow Fargo Public Schools to centralize many employees in one location.

Hispanic Heritage Month
North High School World Language instructor Helene Zelaya and her Spanish students started off Hispanic American Month on September 15 talking about the Honduras Bicentennial, along with four other Central American countries. (The cake in the photo is decorated like the Honduran national flag.) For other activities to honor Hispanic American Month, Zelaya’s students were each given the name of a Spanish-speaking country (there are 21) and researched various aspects of the country’s culture/cuisine/government and presented their findings to the class. Kindness Retreat for Bennett Elementary
Bennett Elementary School fourth graders participated in a Kindness Retreat on September 30. Students and staff wore Bennett school colors and joined Davies High School student leaders and retreat facilitators Rollie Johnson and Fred Edwards for a day of team-building activities. They talked about how to treat one another with kindness and respect, and at the end there was a candle ceremony where students could share one thing they learned, thank one person for something they have done for them, and/or apologize to someone for something hurtful they have done to them in the past. The retreat is sponsored by the Bennett Elementary PTA. (Photo courtesy Amy Balluff)
