Update from Miss Kate
Dear 4-H Families,
Our office is officially done with County Fairs! Our youth in Logan County had their Livestock Show this morning and will be wrapping up with their sale later today.
We look forward to having some of our members exhibit livestock in Grand Island for the State Fair soon and we will also be taking static exhibits for a "showcase" this year.
I wish everyone well as I know some have already started back to school. Keep reading the newsletter for info on educational opportunities and upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Miss Kate

State Fair Eligible Static Items
Static items from county fairs that were selected for state fair will be showcased in Grand Island this year. Exhibits will receive a special participation ribbon, but will not be rejudged. Pictures were taken and submitted for Foods & Horticulture items and any large items.
Many of you have already dropped off your items but if you qualified and haven't, please do so by Thursday, August 24 (4:30 p.m.). Items will be available for pickup on Thursday, September 10th. Let us know if you have questions!
State 4-H Dog Show Update
The 4-H State Dog Show Team has been working hard on hosting the 2020 State 4-H Dog Show while keeping participants safe and socially distanced. Unfortunately due to the current restriction of large gatherings on campus, current Directed Health Measures, and conflicting schedules for many of our exhibitors, we have made the decision to cancel the event. We know this is disappointing; we were looking forward to hosting all of you!
In place of the 2020 State 4-H Dog Show, we will look to offer a 4-H Dog Show/Expo in the spring of 2021. We’re looking at February or March dates as well as various locations. Please watch for more information and opportunities to give your input.
Thanks to all for your interest in the 4-H Dog Program! Let us know if there are questions.

State 4-H Horse Update
The 4-H State Horse Program has been diligently working to continue offering the Hippology, Horse Judging, and Horse Bowl contests in person while keeping exhibitors safe and socially distanced.
We sadly announce due to the cancellation of the Western National Roundup and the All American Quarter Horse Congress (national contests), current restriction of large gatherings on campus, current directed health measures, and conflicting schedules for many of the exhibitors, we will be cancelling these contests for the 2020 year.
This cancellation will give participants and teams a year of eligibility to go to Nationals for 2021.
Thanks to all for your interest in the 4-H Horse Program!
