Weekly Knight Notes

Week of 2-15-16

Survey

As you know, this school year I have the opportunity to be apart of the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute. Part of this process is to do an action research and gather data regarding how well it was implemented.

I am in need of some data regarding our professional development this school year. Please complete the survey below by Thursday. I know it is still mid-February and we have additional P.D. opportunities coming but this information will help me reflect on our P.D. up to this point.

Are YOU up for the challenge??

Here is a Teachers Pay Teachers link to a 30 Day Happy Teacher Challenge. And it just so happens we have 29 days left before spring break, so perfect timing! Each day is a different challenge to help you continue to keep that upbeat personality for your students as we near the end of winter :)

AdvancED Visit

As you saw in Ann's weekly notes, the AdvancEd visit is very quickly approaching. One piece of this that we have already discussed is making sure you are prepared that day for our visitors and your classroom lesson is available. Remember, you won't be able to give tests on this day at all. I will work with Neal on getting a chair in each of your rooms next to the door in case our visitors stop into your room.

With the next few Monday collaborations being geared towards ISTEP, we will most likely need to meet one day after school to discuss AdvancED. I will share survey results, our school plan, and we can discuss any questions you may have at that time.

April 25th- eLearning Flex Day

April 25th will be a planned eLearning day for staff development. Mark your calendars for this date.

As a corporation we are moving towards standards mastery grading and this day will be geared towards that professional development.

More details to come.

Athletics

ENMS Athletics:

This week was an exciting week of Athletics for ENMS! Our Wrestling team has shown outstanding performances to remain unbeaten in Dual Match events! They took victories over Summit, Garret and Bellmont! If you’re looking for an exciting night of activity, See our wrestlers in action at home on Thursday!

Tuesday Wrestling @Woodside

Thursday Wrestling Home vs. Norwell

This week also starts the Swim and Dive season under Coach Faith Erexson and Coach Kim Krebs. They will be in action Thursday at home vs. Carroll for a 5pm start time.

We would like to show our gratitude and appreciation for Monday Night’s Give and Go Games! We had a great turn out from the community and school! We would like to pass on a special thank you for sponsorship and donations from Shepherds Chevrolet Kendallville, Terri Deming Remax-Results Realty, Dekko Foundations, Hite Funeral Home and Parkview Doctor Chris Frazier. The T-shirt design and price discount was provided by Stein Design and Graphics. The games with the basketball teams were an exciting time! The crowd was outstanding and with the help of all of the volunteers, we were able to raise $1,600 for EN’s Abili-Team; which will be able to purchase new equipment for the students! The highlight of the night was the performances by the Abili-Team and having our student-athletes cheering on and showing OUTSTANDING Sportsmanship to the Abili-Team. I can not thank everyone enough for a fantastic night! It’s these events and activities that make us proud to be a Knight!

GO KNIGHTS!
