Lakeview Library Lessons

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Lakeview Library! I am Mrs. Masinag, your Librarian or your Library Media Specialist. I would like to welcome everyone to the learning hub of your school----the library! I hope to share with you fun learning, and of course-----unforgettable reading adventures!





Our library time will consist of:


  • Check-in
Students will line up to check in their books first as soon as they enter the library.


  • Poetry Sharing
Each week, a poem will be read, shared and discussed after check-in. Themes will be in conjunction with library lesson or any school-wide activity.


  • Class Time
Students will be introduced to a lesson.

Students will be given a follow-up lesson.

Students will participate a follow-up activity.


  • Check-out / Learning Stations
Students will utilize the last 20 minutes of library time to do their book checkout. This will include searching Destiny Quest to find books they like to check out. As soon as they're done checking out, they may go to learning stations of their choice: RC, Lego, Blogging,

  • Take a tour of the library familiarizing students with the Everybody and Rookie Nonfiction sections.
