Background information
Max was alive to the age of 84. He was born in Brühl, Germany. He enrolled to the University of Bonn. There he studied philosophy, art history, literature, psychology, and psychiatry. Shortly after he began working on his art. Later in life he was drafted into the First World War. He was demobilized and married an art student named Luise Straus.
Art movement
He was the founder of Dadaism and Surrealism. He spent most his art work in Surrealism. He was greatly inspired for his work after visiting asylums. The horror and cruelty caused some sparks in his creativity for Surrealism.

Oil painting. Has great movement and a good combination of colors. The detail is very good and this is a great representation of surrealism by Max Ernst. This is my favorite painting by him.
