Cystic Fibrosis (Student Council Fundraiser)

The Student Council is collecting monetary donations for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A Student Council rep. came to visit our classroom to talk to us about Cystic Fibrosis. Learn more about how it is affecting two students (brothers) at Goodrich by watching the video below. Donations will be collected until May 13. A heartfelt thank you to all the families that have already graciously donated!
Salty Boys Fight Song

The field trip today was a major success. The students loved the show and were able to meet/high five the cast afterwards!

Writing: Poetry

This week we launched our poetry unit and we are having a blast. We focused on list poems. Next week we will work on shape poems and acrostic poems.

Math: Time

This week we spent lots of time reviewing what we have learned about the clock. Telling time to the half hour on an analog has been the most challenging. Please practice this skill with your child at home.

2nd Step: Asking for Help

Before asking for help, we might experience strong feelings. We need to start off by calming down and thinking calm thoughts. We can ask for help by checking in with a friend first, raising our hand, interrupting politely, or decide to press on without and try again independently.

Reading: More Adventures of Super Kids

Memory words: give, walk, warm, done, once

Spelling pattern: "ow" and "ou" in cow and cloud, "ow" in bow

Please remember to practice the memory words and spelling patterns at home. Thank you to all the families who have their child complete the Superkids Home Connection packets and return them back to school!
