RIGOR IN THE CLASSROOM
This Is What RIGOR Should Look Like In Every Classroom
RIGOR
RIGOR in the classroom is not based on the amount of material that is delivered in the classroom, but delivering relevant material in a fun way that allows each student to be engaged in hands on real life experiences in order to create, analyze , and evaluate data.
Students working in a group.
The students are working with Sky Scrapers and wooden blocks to build barriers in order to understand how barriers protect buildings.
Real Science: from cucumbers to pickles
The students created their very own jar of pickles for Thanksgiving.
Math
In order to understand fractions, we ordered several pizzas and cut them into various sizes (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, etc).
RIGOR In The Outside Environment
Insects
The students were observing insects outside, discussing the best living environment for ants, ladybugs, and caterpillars.
