April 16 - April 20
Each day is a new beginning, the chance to do with it what should be done and not to be seen as simply another day to put in time. -Catherine Pulsifer
HOOT NEWS
MOVE:
We have seven weeks left in this school year. Please reflect on the schedule for your classroom move that I provided a few weeks ago or make your own. It's time to pack, pack, pack.
Do you have furniture that you don't want? Label it "warehouse" and place in the hallway or outside of your portable.
Do you have stuff that you need to give away? We'll put the teacher give away table back out.
Start taking home personal items that aren't needed.
Empty out file cabinets.
LABEL everything! Purge - Purge.
When is the move happening? May 31st - June 4th.
Doss items will be moved to the cafeteria at Lucy Read while Lucy Read's items are moved to individual campuses.
The movers will be finished moving Doss on June 4th.
Blue bins that are full can be stored in room 103. The bins should be piled four high on the rolley cart. We are in the process of getting some large flat boxes for posters etc. and bigger boxes for bulky items.
Remember, you will personally take your phone with you this summer. Please place the phone in a cardboard box and label.
Please plan for to be at Doss on May 19th if possible. You will have volunteers there to help you!
SELF CARE:
I wanted to share an awesome, FREE opportunity for all Doss staff that will happen here on campus next Thursday, April 19. The Camp Gladiator trainer that runs camp at Doss recognizes that we are working very hard to teach our kids, prepare for STAAR, and pack. She wants to help us de-stress a bit!
CG will run a FREE camp for all Doss staff next Thursday, April 19 at 3:30 on the blacktop.
This is a great opportunity to get active with your teammates and sweat away your stress! Starbucks Code Word: SELF-CARE CG's workouts are for all ability levels, so don't be shy! CG will also be sharing about their current promotion for total health and wellness, and giving away a few free months of CG camp! ---Sara Kent, Doss Resource Teacher
PPFT UPDATE:
The Professional Growth and Responsibilities portion of your PPFT is complete. Please go to the HCP and review them. Take a moment to reflect on growth opportunities for next year. What type of PD will you seek out next year? What area would you like to target? Want to increase your leadership opportunities for next year? We can do that!
Thank you for your thoughtful, rubric based input. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see us. Scores were derived from the rubric and your input.
SLO WINDOW AND DEADLINE:
SLO post test window opened Monday, March 19. The window will close on Friday, April 20. This is the final day to submit SLO scores for final verification. Teachers, please do not to wait until the last minute - this is a firm district deadline. Remember, all staff should be saving student pre- & post- tests for one full school year as documentation for their appraisal. The tests can stay in a safe spot in the teacher's room or in a designated area on campus, but they must remain on campus.
UNWANTED ITEMS:
Any unwanted items that will not make the move need to be labeled "warehouse" and placed in the hallway. This will give the custodial staff ample time to have it picked up and removed.
CONFERENCE ROOM CLOSED:
FYI, the conference room will be closed until 4/18.
