100 day Challenge
Let's Spread Kindness Like Confetti, and together let's make 100 positive phone calls home! With 30+ teachers, that's only 3 phone calls each!
No time to make a call? Sign up and I'll cover your class for 20 minutes so you can make a few phone calls and make someone's day!
There will be a bag on the office counter with tiny paper hearts. For every positive phone call you make on February 7, put a paper heart into the bag hanging by my mailbox. (No need to write anything on the heart, it's just my way of counting up to 100 + phone calls.) I'll create a display in the main hallway using the hearts.
Kids Heart Challenge
The following message was shared with our parents in Friday's newsletter.
Hello Parents and Families,
The Big Hollow Physical Education department is excited to announce that we are nearly to our goal of $15,000 raised for the American Heart Association as a part of our 2019 Kids Heart Challenge. This program kicked off last Tuesday with an assembly and since then our students have participated in a variety of activities that teach them important messages about heart health. We also hosted a successful Family Jump Night with over 200 kids and their families and over 190 students have chosen to collect money to donate to help those with sick hearts.
Our original closing date for this program was today, Friday the 1st. However, due to the many Snow/Cold days this past week we have decided to extend our closing date to next Tuesday, February 5th, which means we will accept donations up through this Monday, February 4th.
Thank you for all of your support during this program. We hope that your child has learned about the importance of citizenship and charity and come away with some skills that they can use to make heart healthy decisions in the future.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child's PE teacher.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Merrill < LindaMerrill@BigHollow.us >
Mr. Jackowiak < ChristopherJackowiak@BigHollow.us >
