SCC provides students with many opportunities to develop their professional skills and tools, including a professional resume. Business professionals have been working one-on-one with SCC students editing and providing feedback about their resumes. With their help students are able to move their resume rough drafts to a more professional level. "Students are learning what skills are valuable in the workplace and how to display those skills successfully in a resume," said Elizabeth Stuber, SCC's ELA Instructor.

Business professionals will be in throughout the year to support and guide students with their resume development and interview skills. Last week, Vanessa Swain from GLE Precision and Lindsay Bryce from Delta College/Saginaw ISD assisted students in the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Academy with their resumes.

White Pine's Educators of Tomorrow Club Partners with Careers in Education

Big picture
White Pine Middle School's "Educators of Tomorrow" club visited the Careers in Education class earlier this month. The middle school students brought books to read to the Head Start preschool students, and Careers in Education students prepared related extension activities for the Head Start students. Several Careers in Education students led a variety of fun team-building activities. Visiting students also had the opportunity to tour SCC's campus. The White Pine visitors went back to school with homemade chocolate chip cookies baked by SCC's Culinary and Hospitality Management students. Special thanks to White Pine for donating several brand new children's books to our classroom collection!
