Statewide & District Benchmark Assessments

Both on a state and district level, we use a variety of assessments to measure a student's growth over time. While our in-class assessments from day-to-day help to measure your child's growth in real time in the classroom, it is helpful to have other tools that measure overall growth as well. Our goal is to help students meet and exceed the standards. Where we see gaps in learning, we seek to support students to help them reach his/her goals through a variety of ways.

This week, you will receive two different reports about your child's learning from Pizitz. One report (referenced in a video last week from Chris Pennington) is your child's ACAP scores from last year's end-of-year state assessment. Another report will show your child's beginning-of-the-year assessment according to iReady. iReady is the program our district uses to measure student growth, based on grade-level standards in the area of reading and math, throughout the year. We give this assessment three times a year, based on these results, the program tailors instruction to the students learning needs. We will be sharing a brief video with you to share more about these reports this week. Should you have additional questions about your child's learning, feel free to reach out to an administrator or teacher.
