How does fear block our ability to have an open, resilient and responsive heart? Can we cultivate a loving orientation even in the face of challenge, fear or pain? What practices help us open our hearts? During this weekend residential retreat we will combine silent mindful meditation practices with exploration of Jewish and Buddhist teachings that cultivate awareness of our fears, give us tools to meet them, and grow a loving orientation to all the experiences of our lives.

The retreat will combine seated and walking meditation; learning from Buddhist and Jewish sources; a joyful celebration of Shabbat and creative Shabbat morning Torah service; meetings with teachers; opportunities to ask questions; 3 vegetarian meals daily and mindful eating practice.

No previous meditation experience or Jewish knowledge required. Everyone is warmly welcome.
