State History Day Winner!
We have some exciting student news to share.
8th grader, Jacob Gores, won third place in the Junior Individual Website category for California's National History Day.
Jacob spent countless hours creating his high quality and excellent website. Despite the pandemic and school closures, Jacob’s tenacity and perseverance helped lead him to his current success and we know these traits he possesses will help him succeed in the future as well. He learned from last year and put in tremendous amounts of effort to create an award-winning project this year (look out AR! This kid is coming your way!) Out of hundreds of projects, Jacob’s stood out and won third place. This is a tremendous honor and win for not only Jacob, our school, but our county as well.
Once again, congratulations, Jacob. We are so proud!
New Murals at Pine Hill and South Bay
South Bay's is also putting up a student inspired mural on the campus within the next few weeks. Artist Haley Davis is creating a fence art project that will span that fence by the Quad with the word "South Bay" and art suggested by the students. We are excited to see the mural brighten the campus and share our school pride!
These new pieces of art will be positive, beautiful additions to our campuses. We look forward to showcasing them when we are able to reopen!
