Happy New Year Wheeler Families!
I hope that you are as excited as we are at Wheeler about this new school year. Last year, doors were opened for Wheeler to new opportunities that will help us boost our students' academic success. As a principal, I couldn't be more proud of our staff, families, and students for everything we accomplished last year. However, in looking forward to the future, I am excited for the 21st Century after-school program that will support our students academically and socially with new skills and fun. But will also support those families whose working heads of households work and have a hard time picking up their students who are dismissed at 2:00 PM, when most jobs end after 3:00 PM. Supporting the entire Wildcat family is our goal. Stay tuned for details. Our 21st Century Program will begin around September 11, 2023.
Our team of professionals at Wheeler Elementary has a very specific focus on student success through engagement. Our teacher had the opportunity to receive training on student engagement this summer through Kagan Cooperative Structures and AVID strategies. The excitement is palpable in the classrooms. Our teachers and staff are ready for the 2023-2024 school year and we are looking forward to partnering up with you!
In partnership,
Dr. Rosalinda Rodriguez

Attendance and Punctuality is an Important Skill for Ours Wildcats' Future
This year, there is a new way to call in your students when they are sick and excuse their absences online! The good news is you do not have to make a new account or have a separate app. All you have to do is log in to your Parent Vue account. Please see the document below for instructions!
Drop-Off and Pick Up Support
In addition, we have a lot of our drivers making illegal u-turns right in front of our school. While we understand the morning rush and having to be a work or dropping off older students at their school, let's play it safe for everyone and avoid making u-turns around the school. The same applies to pick-up in the afternoon. U-turns and going to the front of the line is causing delays in dismissal. We appreciate your patience, as our new families learn our system. With your help, we will get back to our 7-minute dismissal in no time!
