- Please make sure your child is ready to exit the car with his/her materials prior to pulling into the lot.

Masks
Masks
All staff and children will be expected to wear masks throughout the day. There may be medical exceptions for this, as long as the appropriate documentation is provided. Please make sure your child brings a mask to school each day.
Masks must be a cloth face covering that fits close to the face, over the nose and mouth, fitting snugly below the chin.
Children will NOT be allowed to wear face shields without a mask. The CDC has issued guidance on shields, stating, "It is not known if face shields provide any benefit as source control to protect others from the spray of respiratory particles. CDC does not recommend use of face shields for normal everyday activities or as a substitute for cloth face coverings."
No Snacks / YES Water Bottles
All children should bring their own water bottle to drink from during their instructional time.
COVID Protocols
This includes, but is not limited to, the following safety precautions:
- Intentional arrival and dismissal plans to avoid large groups of students in indoor common areas
- 6 feet of space between each child's learning area within the classroom
- Remaining in the same classroom with the same peers during the half day cohort
- PPE that includes face masks, plastic barriers when necessary in personalized instruction, and hand sanitizer stations
- Frequent cleaning of the building and especially in between cohorts
- Deep cleaning and disinfecting on Wednesdays, when the building is closed
- Explicit instruction of proper hygiene practices and easy access to handwashing stations throughout the day
- Individual bathrooms for each classroom
- Physical distancing on buses and throughout the school day
- Prohibiting visitors to enter the building (unless there is an established appointment time that is set up by phone)
If a child exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, we will implement the following protocol:
- Contact his/her parents
- Require a family member to pick up the child
- Quarantine the child in a safe, comfortable, and supervised area until his/her family member arrives
- Work with public health officials, the school district, and the child's family to develop a plan for returning to school
If there is a confirmed COVID case in our school (whether it is a staff member or student), this immediately gets reported to our Human Resources office and to public health officials. The school district and public health officials will then work together to determine who has had close contact with the infected individual. The course of action taken by the school district will be on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with school district nurses, Human Resources, and public health officials. Additionally, the school district and health department would work together to properly inform families of steps required. Please note that, due to privacy guidelines, we will not identify the specific individual who has tested positive.
In the event of a positive COVID case, infected individuals would need to stay home at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared and until they have no fever for at least 24 hours without medication, as well as improvement of other symptoms. Anyone living with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 should quarantine for 14 days. Anyone who has been in close contact (within six feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before illness onset) with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 should quarantine for 14 days. Thus, public health officials and the school district would notify families if close contact of infected person has occurred.
Visitor Protocol
- Family members can not enter the building with their children
- Meetings and correspondences will be conducted through phone calls, email exchanges, or Zoom calls whenever possible
- If a face to face meeting is necessary, then an appointment will be made over the phone with our front office staff. Upon arriving on campus, the person with the appointment will call the office and answer a series of screening questions before being allowed to enter.
