Holiday Giving -

Park View Families -

We have received many Kohl's gift cards and they will go to support our PV families in need - to bring some joy during this holiday time and beyond. We couldn't have done it without you. It's very special when a community reaches out to its neighbors. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you PTA for holding a virtual book fair this fall. I know for those of you that wanted to order books, it was easy to order on-line. Also, thank you for organizing the family trivia night. It was so nice for families to play a game together and of course who won the trivia . . . . . . . Mrs. Hansel!!!

Self-Certification Requirement

When students return to in-person/hybrid learning, after winter break, they will be sent home if a self-certification is not completed in Skyward by 7:45 am each day they are in attendance. This week and next week, we are taking the time to acclimate you to this new procedure, to help you develop this new habit, and to work out any tech issues at this time. Please make sure you spend this next week self-certifying each day your child is in-person so in January you will not have to pick up your child from school.

If you are having difficulty with it, please call us at 630-827-4040 so we can help now, before we start sending students home. Here is the link for how to self-certify using a mobile device (cell phone) and in Spanish. Here is the link for how to self-certify using a web browser (computer) and in Spanish.

Take District Survey

Earlier this week you received a communication from the district regarding a survey you need to fill out to indicate your preference for in-person/hybrid learning, or remote only learning for your child(ren). The survey is open until Wednesday 12/16 (5pm). If you do not reply, your child(ren) will be placed in remote only learning. Your preference you choose will go into effect Monday 1/25 until Spring break 3/29. We need this information to begin looking at our classrooms and determining space needs and to continue to look at all options as we move forward. If you did not receive the communication with the link to the survey - click here to access it.

Please understand the following before making your selection:

  • All families are required to complete the survey. Those who do not complete the survey by the deadline will be automatically enrolled in the remote-only option.

  • All students -- whether they continue with their current learning model or not -- will remain with their current classroom teacher.

  • Due to health and safety concerns, general education transportation (grades K-8 only) will be very limited; not all families will be guaranteed. If your selection is contingent upon transportation being provided, please indicate so in the survey.

  • We advise you to make your selection based on our current schedule model. We will be evaluating our schedule over the next several weeks to see if we can make long-term adjustments (adding more onsite days, offering specials more days, etc.), but those will not be immediate.

  • Your requested learning model (hybrid/in-person or remote only) will not take effect until Monday, January 25, 2021. This means if your child is currently hybrid/in-person or remote only, they will remain as such until January 25.
