9th grade - MBIT

The Lenape Guidance Department has arranged a visit to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. This trip is open to all 9th grade students who have a sincere interest in potentially attending MBIT during their 10th grade year. The Thanksgiving food drive has begun and will run until November 18th. The collection this year will run through all LOOPS. We are asking students to volunteer to bring in one item. Any non-perishable food item will be accepted. Any extra food items are always welcome! All donations will be delivered to a FOOD Pantry in the Doylestown area for people to shop for Thanksgiving.

We will also be looking tor HELP to deliver the food collected to the food pantry. Students who participate that are in NJHS will receive 2 hours for service with this opportunity. A sign-up genius will be emailed within the next week. Food will be boxed and can be picked up in the front office on November 19th at the end of the day. All food should be picked up by 3:30PM. The delivery location will be provided on the day of pick up. Please have your student respond to NJHS mentors at Lenape if interested in this opportunity!

Just a reminder, Lenape is taking part in the 2019 Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) sponsored by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. The survey will ask questions about the behaviors of students in the 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grades, including questions about school climate, violence, depression, bullying, and substance abuse. 8th grade students will be taking this survey on November 19th through their 8th grade science classes. Community Book Club

Lenape's second Community Book Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Doylestown Bookshop. November's book pick is Rising Water by Marc Aronson. On June 23, 2018, twelve members of the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach were exploring the Tham Luang cave complex in northern Thailand when disaster struck. A rainy season downpour flooded the tunnels, trapping them as they took shelter on a shelf of the dark cave. Eight days of searching yielded no signs of life, but on July 2nd they were discovered by two British divers. The boys and their coach ere eventually rescued in an international operation that took three days. What could have been a terrible tragedy became an amazing story of survival.

Books are $15.00 (checks payable to Lenape Middle School or cash). Please RSVP to Christy Venters at cventers@cbsd.org by Friday, November 8th. You do not need to read or purchase a book to attend, bu, as always, prizes will be awarded to the students who help us to center our conversation around the book.

We have Lenape wear in stock for you to purchase for your child/ren. To access the order form, click on the link below. We do not have Med - red sweatshirt hoodies.
