End of the school year celebration

Our class will be celebrating the last day of school on Thursday, June 2nd. Our celebration will begin around 11:45 with lunch, then they will be able to enjoy the snacks they bring. If you would like to sign up to bring something please use the link on this page. Remember, it is not required.

Also, please don't forget that Thursday is a half day.

Short and Crazy week

Next week will be short and crazy. We will have no school on Monday and a half day on Thursday. Students are then released for summer!

End of the year, wrapping it all up

Yes, the last week of school is almost here! Its amazing how fast this year has flown by. Just a few things to remember the last week of school.

1)Please don't send students with backpacks the last week. We will have our desks cleared out and although we will be working in class, they will not need their backpacks.

2) Remember Thursday is a half day and our school celebration

3) Report Cards go home on the last day, in an envelope. If your student is not here on the last day, the report card will be in the office waiting for you.

A note from the teacher

I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your children with me this year. I have enjoyed this year of teaching so much and have had some of my best memories with your students. I hope that they learned as much from me as I have from them.

I will still be at Timber Ridge next year, so please feel free to stop by if you need anything.

Thank you so much for all your support and such a wonderful year.

Library Books

All library books are due TOMORROW! we have cleared out out rooms and our desks, please check at home for more books. Otherwise, students will be asked to pay for the missing books before they can get their summer grades.

Math: Step up to 4th grade

Now that students have learned and mastered their 3rd grade standards, we are moving on and learning a little bit of 4th grade math. I will be giving students time in class to work on homework, so they SHOULDNT have any homework, but if they don't use their time wisely they might.

ELAR: Writing

As the year wraps up we will be going more writing. I may have to send some of this home for editing and students may want to share their work with you.

End of the Year

Yes we are down to something like 13 days. However, I will be teaching up until the last day. Please remind students thy need to bring backpacks until the end of the month, as we will be working hard. On may 27th, please send an extra bag with your student because that will be clean out your desk day.

End of the Year Party!!!

Yes, its that time, end of the year party! We will have our celebration on June 2nd. However, I want to give everyone time to plan. You are not required to bring anything, but I know most students want to. Please use the link below to sign up for an item, or two, if you want to. Please remember. we have 24 students in our class and all food needs to be individually wrapped and store bought. (Store bought cupcakes and cookies are okay, I will hand those out with gloves).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Life After STAAR

Believe it or not there is life after the STAAR test in 3rd grade. For the next few weeks we will be busy with a research project (some of this will have to come home), math (a jumpstart on 4th grade) and writing to make sure they are ready. Students may be tried as we are going to finish the year STRONG. Please keep an eye out for any projects and parent information as it comes out in the next couple weeks.

A few Reminders as we begin May

Yes, its already May. No, I almost can't believe it myself. I know that since May is upon us we all (myself included) begin to think about summer and those wonderful vacation plans we have. However, please remind your students we have so much learning left to do and we even have a research project coming up!

STAAR Testing

We will STAAR test Monday and Tuesday (the 9th and 10th) as a whole class. Students are MORE than ready for this test and I believe in them. Just a few notes for the STAAR:

1) Please make sure students get enough sleep and eat a good breakfast the day of. I will have morning snacks for them, but these have to be eaten before we can begin.

2) Please do not send students with backpack on testing days. They will not have homework or class work and honestly we have so little room for them, since we have to put everything from our desks in our cubbies.

3) Students should wear comfortable clothing. They are going to be sitting a lot, and I want them to be comfortable.

4) Last, but not least, PLEASE remind your students that they have 4 hours to take this assessment and to PLEASE take their time and use their strategies.

Snack and drinks

Sadly, I have had to ask the students not to bring snack or drinks (bottles) to class anymore as we had too many cases of students stealing and sharing food. Since this is a violation of the student code of conduct I have told the students no more. However, if you student has a medical l reason for either of these please let me know and I will make arrangements for them.
