OCTOBER
ERS Program
You are so SMART!
Calm down area
1. This is more psychology related and it may/may not seem silly but I still wanted to include this. Sometimes kids (adults too) get over stimulated, antsy, off task, frustrated, and just need a spot to calm down. Let them step out of the room, or go to a designated 'calm' spot. This is just an idea in the image above. Where they can just write or draw in the sand. Place the rocks, pebbles and shells in their design.
2. I have 2 mini ipod shuffles in my room if you would like to borrow them. ( However,I do not have extra earbuds.) There are some slow paced worship songs I can put on the shuffles for them to listen to in this calm down spot.
3. You can have a timer in this spot or say after listening to 2 songs, you can return to the group.
:) Whatever works best :)
