Message From Mr. G!
We are now following the modified quarantine guidelines from the St. Charles Health Department. There are 4 likely scenarios....
1. If a student tests positive for COVID they will be quarantined for 10 days.
2. If the student lives with a family member that tested positive for COVID and they can be isolated from the positive individual, then the student must quarantine for 14 days.
3. If the student is a close contact to a COVID positive individual that is not a household member then they will be quarantined for 10 days if they have no symptoms and you chose not to have them tested.
4. If the student is a close contact to a COVID positive individual that is not a household member and you elect to test your child, then they must be tested between days 5 and 7. If the test comes back negative then the quarantine is reduced to 7 days. A copy of the negative test result must be provided to our nurses.
If you have any COVID-related questions please reach out to our nurses, 651-5757 ext., 19233.
I could not be more proud of our students. I am continually impressed how both the morning and the afternoon students have adapted to wearing masks. I knew the afternoon students would ultimately adjust to wearing them but I have been pleasantly surprised at how our youngest students (our morning friends) have taken to them! There is no doubt we lost valuable instructional time this year. I am equally certain that our staff has persevered through this difficult year and has worked exceptionally hard to maximize each day we are fortunate enough to have your children present with us. We will continue to do so for the duration of this school year, making the 20-21 school year the best it can be for your children!

Bike Safety Tips for Preschoolers
· Make sure your child has a proper fitting helmet and that they wear it every time they ride their bike.
· Select a bike that is the correct size for your child, not one they will grow into.
· Limited bike riding to sidewalks, parks, or bike paths for preschoolers. Watch for vehicles in driveways when riding on sidewalks.
· Wear bright clothing and avoid long or loose clothing that can get caught in chains and wheels on the bike.
· Your child should were closed-toe shoes and not flip-flops or bare feet.
· Encourage your child to keep both hands on the handle bars when riding their bike.
Staff Spotlight-Crissi Runner
My name is Crissi Runner and I’ve been a nurse for 11 yrs and have been at Barfield since 2018. My family and I moved to Wentzville from West Virginia 6 years ago. I’ve been married to my husband, Larry, for 12 years and we have a 11yr old son named Owen and an 9 yr old daughter named Kate.
As a family, we love sports and enjoy cheering on my alma mater, WVU, and my husband's alma mater, Virginia Tech. We spend many hours at the soccer field with my son and look forward to catching some St. Louis MLS games in the future. We also enjoy traveling and seeing new places. Rounding out our family is a small zoo, three dogs – Max, Jasper, and Sadie, 1 cat – Otis and 2 guinea pigs - Ron and George.
I look forward to being at Barfield for many more years to come. We have an amazing staff and it’s a joy to come to work. I’ve loved getting to know the students and their families.
