What is Mechanical Energy?
The mechanical energy of an object is the sum of its energy in motion and its stored motion. This means it is the sum of its kinetic and potential energy. Although the kinetic and potential energy of an object can change, its mechanical energy remains constant. This is because kinetic and potential energy change proportionately.
Below are examples of KE (Energy of Motion and PE (Stored Energy of Position).
Mechanical Energy enables an object to apply force to another object in order to cause it to be displaced.

Benefits of mechanical energy are evident in construction projects, in which many of the activities involve machines lifting heavy objects and cutting materials into smaller pieces. Using mechanical energy also has drawbacks, one of which is that machines and equipment require maintenance to keep them in working order.
