Summary
Melody Brooks has a photographic memory but can not communicate. She has cerebral palsy and can't walk, talk or hold a pencil. Melody has thousands of worlds stuck in her her with no way of getting them out. Her world consists of boring days sitting in a classroom with teachers who don't understand her level of learning. Melody has only one distant friend and is ready for a change. When she discovers a device that can flip her world around, she is eager to get started on it. Out of My Mind is an incredibly moving story of eleven-year-old Melody and her world of overcoming the many challenges that are thrown at her.
