Features
Elephants are the largest terrestrial animal. Elephants are mostly known for their tusks. They are a brownish gray color. They have a ear shape of a triangular or trapezoid. An elephant's foot is a large pad of fat and connective tissue at the heel.
Their skin has a wrinkly texture.
Elephant Poaching
Population
It was thought that there have been 3-5 million elephants in the 1930s and 1940s. In the 1980s 100,000 elephants were killed. 300,000 elephants are still roaming the sub regions.
Extra Facts
When elephants swim they use their trunk as a snorkel to breathe. The elephant is the only mammal in the world that can't jump. Their skin is one inch thick. An elephants trunk contains more than 40,000 muscles.fo
