Note from the Principal:
Dear Staff,
I'm looking forward to "Trout Introduction" lessons. As we transition from "Monarch Mania" to "Trout Mania," it is important to remember how connecting learning to authentic topics can be so engaging and lead to so many questions and observations (many of which we may not even have planned or expected).
Let's get excited as a school for trout eggs, but let's also challenge ourselves to make our content and our materials as real and exciting as possible, regardless of what grade or subject we teach. Is there a local business that we can contact? Is there an expert somewhere we can communicate with (electronically or in person)? Can we write letters to a large company asking a question or offering feedback? The more our learning is linked to the world outside of school, the more impact it will have - and I guarantee the more fun it will be to teach!
We've already created a great deal of momentum in just a few weeks. Let's keep it going and build it up even more!
Happy Friday.
Sincerely,
Chris

Key Information:
- PLC Clarification - In order to get everyone on the same page, please note that PLC time across the district is 8:30 - 9:10, please ensure that coverage are in place by 8:30.
- Behavior Support - One of the great things about BT is that we work with students with all sorts of needs, behaviorally, academically and socially. Just a quick request - if you see a student in the hallway that is struggling but with an adult, please do your best to ignore the student. Even if he/she is laying on the floor or having an episode. Some of our younger friends are really cute, but if we stop to tell them that, we may inadvertently reinforce the behavior. Please just be aware and help support your class in downplaying if necessary. Thanks!
- Fire Safety - Thursday, October 11th. SCHEDULE.
- Communication w Parents - The following communications went home this week. Please take a look and be aware. Please help spread the word and share info about Veteran's Day! HALLOWEEN LETTER, VETERAN'S DAY LETTER.
- Flipgrid - Here is the Flipgrid from Den Groups. Feel free to share this w your class! CLICK HERE.
- TIP Meetings - We will have grade level TIP meetings on Thursday, October 18th and Friday October 19th (morning half day each - K-2 Thurs/3-5 Fri - schedules TBA; coverage will be provided). All profiles and universal screenings should be complete by Friday, October 12th in preparation. The meetings will take place in room B1 (Fesmire).
