Push forward...we still have time to make a difference in the lives of our students.
"If we all did the things we were capble of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."
--Thomas Edison
Making words out of Easter Eggs
I love Ms. King's literacy center idea. Students select a bunny egg, "crack" it open, and manipulate the words.
Thinking Deeply
Reading is Meaning....and this student is in deep thought
Conferences with Students
To hold students accountable for their thinking and challenge them, Ms. Rangel is keeping notes of what her students are reading.
Lead4ward Suggestion Review for STAAR
Students were given cut up past STAAR questions and had to determine which skill was being assessed.
Literacy Academy Cohort
Ms. King, Ms. Rice, and Ms. Shiflet have attended numerous hours of professional development and coaching with the NCISD Literacy Academy. They would love to share their knowledge with you!
Great Pair
Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Kopecky are Balanced Literacy Trained. Ms. Gonzalez is apart of Cohort 1 and Ms. Kopecky is apart of Cohort 2.
Class of 2026
Our 5th Graders took a beautiful picture today on their University of Houston and Discovery Green Field Trip.
Principal's Meeting, VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION, and HERO Event
On Monday, all the NCISD elementary principals and curriculum team will be meeting in Room 116. The theme is Crippen Corral. The following week is Volunteer Appreciation Week. Please think about everyone that has read to your class, volunteered, or chaperoned this year. We will you give you invitations to distribute to volunteers next week for a light appreciation luncheon. (Thank you Ms. Ghuenim and Ms. McMilan for decorating!)
Spanish Leveled Readers....MORE of them
Mr. Gentry, Ms. Gray, and PTT have labeled all the Spanish readers. We moved them to the back of the library because we have ran out of room in our little closet in the hallway. They are available for use!
