Field Trip May 3
Field trip permission slips are due soon. Please send your permission slip and money if you haven't already done so. Also, everyone will need a lunch from home on that day. The kids are in charge of their own lunch on the bus. We do not take coolers or boxes to store them in on the way. We will be eating on the bus on the way home. Here are some guidelines to help us be as neat as possible while eating on a moving bus!
Sack Lunch Guidelines:
For the Children's Museum Trip on May 3rd , Please don’t send pizza or nacho Lunchables (any other Lunchable is fine-, it is just that building a meal with sauce/ salsa + a moving bus = disaster!).
Please send a drink that can be closed - water/ Gatorade/ juice are fine. No pop please! Thank you!
Coats Needed
Please continue to send a coat with your child. Morning recess is still quite chilly and we want everyone to be dressed safely for the temperature.
If you’d like to sit with your child at lunch we’d love to have you. Lunch begins at 11:47 a.m. If you wish to eat the school lunch, please call the office to order a tray.

Those who have not finished subtraction should be bringing homework home nightly to practice. With only 6 weeks left I'm concerned that we're going to run out of days for them to pass their levels and 100 facts in 5 minutes.
Goals for Subtraction Facts
Level M by March 8-
Level Z by May 22
Once a student reaches Level Z and can do at least 95 out of 100 subtraction problems in 5 minutes they move to multiplication facts.

Homework Helps and Hints
Is your child prepared for an emergency??
We don't know our addresses or phone numbers! This is a safety concern- we talked about needing to know their full address for calling 911, if they are lost, or even to put into a GPS! Please help your child work on this- I know they had to know it in kindergarten, but they've forgotten! Full address means house number, street, city, state and zip code! Also, most didn't know a phone number (thanks to our contact list on our phones!). Another safety feature all kids need to know!!!
