Ask Your Child About...
K - Valentine’s Day and our week of love. Sorting, graphing and adding candy hearts.
1 - What famous Americans we learned about this week!
2 - The persuasive writing they have done. Who have they written to? What topics have they written about?
3 - Their Native American research project. We have been comparing and contrasting Cheyenne and Lenape Tribes.
4 - The Muscular System! Do a quick movement break and talk about what muscles are contracting and relaxing!
5 - The social issues we are discussing in our book clubs about
“Because of Mr. Terupt.”Art - 4th Graders - Trompe L'oeil and how we used it to create ice cream sundaes. Please check out @art.with.mrs.ferrell on Instagram to see how sweet these treats turned out. No names or faces will ever be displayed. Artwork only.
Music - Ask your 4th or 5th grader to share the drumming patterns we learned to accompany a folk song from the region of West Africa, “Funga Alafia.”
PE - Gymnastics and body management skills with stations!

Students will be watching a new video after break. Barbara will share how connecting with others is another way to “Do Happy.” The focus of the video will be:
Social connections are good for us, and loneliness is not.
It’s not the number of friends you have; it’s the quality of your close relationships that matters.
Good relationships protect our body and affect our emotional and mental health.
